The Cost: More Than Just a Late Shipment

Let's talk about what a day of downtime actually costs. According to USPS pricing effective January 2025, a First-Class Mail letter costs $0.73. But if you need it there overnight, you'll pay a lot more for Priority Mail Express. Urgency has always had a price. In mining, the price of urgency is very different from postage. A cement plant losing 5,000 tons of output per day can lose around $150,000 in revenue per day at current clinker prices. That's not even counting contract penalties or downstream effects.

In March 2024, we got a call from a small producer in Missouri. They needed a replacement crusher gearbox.
