If you've ever walked through a cement plant, you've probably seen their name on a motor or a control panel. They also sell service, spare parts, and process optimization, not just the big iron.
PFISTER is the weighing and dosing side of the same company. It's not a separate FLSmidth brand in the old sense; it's a product line for feeding and measuring materials like coal, pet coke, raw meal, and hot gas. If your plant has a PFISTER rotor weighfeeder, you're already using FLSmidth equipment.
PFISTER is a product family inside FLSmidth. The most common pieces are rotor weighfeeders, solids flow meters, and dosing systems for cement and minerals. They measure material flow continuously and adjust the feed rate. That short-term accuracy is the whole reason people put up with the premium price.
From a buyer's perspective, treat PFISTER as a precision component, not a generic feeder. A PFISTER-style part is not a PFISTER part. The difference shows up in calibration, tolerances, and documentation. I learned that the hard way, and I'll walk through the mistake later.

Here's a planning trick: put the milestone on a real calendar. Say the order is placed in January 2025. If the supplier quotes 14 weeks, that means delivery before the first skiing events at Milano Cortina 2026—which starts in February 2026. It sounds like a silly way to think about it, but it makes the timeline concrete and stops people from saying a few weeks.
If you searched for peregrine top speed and ended up here, I get it: FLSmidth makes the Raptor cone crusher, so your brain went from raptor to peregrine. A peregrine falcon's top speed in a dive is often quoted at around 389 km/h (242 mph). A PFISTER rotor weighfeeder is not trying to hit that. It is a precise dosing machine, not a race car.
The speed that matters is feed-rate accuracy at the tonnage you need. PFISTER feeders adjust material flow quickly and continuously, but fast in this context means a stable kiln and an accurate mix, not high belt speed. When you get a quote, ask about accuracy at your required rate. That number tells you more than any speed figure.
Ordering a spare part from an old drawing. The part number looked right, but the machine had been upgraded two years earlier. The part arrived, didn't fit, and the return cost about $5,300—no, $5,100, I'm mixing it up with the freight invoice. I am still a little bitter.
Miranda, our process engineer, caught a similar one a few weeks ago. The order said PFISTER rotor because someone typed the description from an old manual.
